Job Title: Guatemalan Information Technology (IT) Specialist

Overview:
IBTCI is currently seeking an IT Specialist (Guatemalan National) to support the upcoming USAID/Guatemala Metrics Project. The Metrics Project (Metrics) will provide monitoring, evaluation design, and learning support services to the USAID/Guatemala Mission. The overall purpose of this project is to enhance USAID/Guatemala's monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and learning systems and capacity for accountability and adaptation across or within projects and activities. Generally, Metrics will provide services that fit into three areas: (1) Evaluation Design, (2) Performance Monitoring, and (3) Learning and Adaptation.
The period of performance is expected to be 5 years and is expected to be based in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The position is contingent upon a successful award.
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the database design, development, and management needs of USAID and implementing partners
- Manage the database design, and troubleshoot information management platforms and applications.
- Provide technical assistance to the team.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ Guatemalan national
§ English and Spanish fluency required in speaking, writing, and reading.
§ Knowledge of compete Microsoft Office Suite (Including Excel)
§ Previous experience with database management and management information systems (MIS), and relevant software(s).
Minimum Requirements:
§ At least 8 years of experience developing and managing information management databases.
§ Demonstrated experience with database design, development, and management.
§ Demonstrated experience with database application installation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
§ Broad experience with data quality and how it pertains to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of USAID-funded programs.
§ Experience with full Microsoft Office Suite (including Access) preferred.
§ Excellent oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
§ Previous experience with USAID-funded programs preferred.
§ Experience with AidTracker preferred.
Education:
Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, web-application development, software applications development, computer systems engineering, database administration, or related field.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position may require supervisory responsibility.
Travel: Travel within Guatemala is required.
