The "Emerge Peru II Program, Beyond Extraction: Economic Opportunities in Mining Communities," will be implemented in collaboration with the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), Anglo American Quellaveco SA and Anglo American Group Foundation.
The program is carried out in partnership with the MIF, in order to develop a local economic development program, focused on strengthening public and private actors and productive associations, strengthening MYPEs in Moquegua region to join the supply chain of goods and services of the public and/or private sector and business strengthening of SMEs for their access to new markets and financing.
As Project Manager you will:
- Lead the implementation of the strategy
- Supervise the fulfillment of the activities according to the work plan
- Provide feedback and strategic support to consultants in the execution of their advisory services
- Coordinate the interrelation between the components of the project and with external stakeholders
- Ensure team alignment with strategy
- Represent the project with Anglo American, MIF, and other stakeholders
- Supervise proper compliance with TechnoServe policies
- Manage the use of resources and the processes of internal control of the project
- Define and supervise the processes of information gathering for monitoring and evaluation
- Carry out the planning for the execution of the project
- Lead the implementation of the project
- Interview and propose the personnel to be hired if required
- Supervise compliance with the strategy at all levels of the project
- Coordinate with the M&E Consultant and project team members to identify and/or strengthen the interaction with Project participants
- Define the work to be implemented and make adjustment needed in permanent coordination with Country Director TNS and Anglo American / MIF team
- Conduct weekly operational meetings with TechnoServe Country Director, M&E and then, executive meetings with all members of the project team
- Review staff time sheets and products delivered by consultants on a monthly basis
- Develop new relationships with potential strategic allies for the program (financial institutions, buyers, educational institutions, etc.)
You will have:
- A bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in business development, preferably experience working with mining companies
- Strong management capacity including an ability to implement operational changes that improve efficiency, propose strategic changes (if necessary) to Country Director
- Experience in managing and directing meetings with the international partners
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and project expense reporting
- Outstanding communication skills in Spanish with proficiency in English preferred
- This position must be based in Moquegua
