Chemonics seeks a chief of party to provide overall technical and administrative leadership and expertise for the anticipated USAID Promotion of Best Environmental and Social Management Practices bid (Amazon BMP). The purpose of this activity is to facilitate multistakeholder agreement on best management practices (BMPs) for four priority sectors (hydro-power, roads, oil and gas, and mining) and support the promotion, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of these BMPs. This position will be based in Lima, Peru, but will work across the region in other target countries. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide overall technical and administrative leadership and expertise
- Serve as the program’s primary liaison with USAID on management and technical matters
- Ensure coordination and communication with government counterparts, donor organizations, and local and regional partners and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in environmental science/management, public administration, business administration, governance, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience leading programs of similar scope and complexity
- Experience with gender equality or social inclusion/protection preferred
- Experience working with high-level, multidisciplinary teams on international donor-funded projects; USAID experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluency in writing and speaking English and Spanish required; Portuguese preferred
