The role:
As a key member of the LAC regional program team, the MEAL Regional Advisor will take the lead in developing and roll out of an integrated approach for Monitoring & Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) within the region.
The regional MEAL advisor will take responsibility for assisting in developing and implementing quality programs and delivering Save the Childrens strategy within the region. She/He will provide support to the Country offices and within Regional programs. The role holder will:
- Create capacity on MEAL Approach including Program KPIs, MEAL framework, Quality Benchmarks, Quality Framework, Total Reach, AMT, and others
- Support the development and implementation of the Regional Program Strategy of SCI in LAC
- Evidence of analytical ability, for example through experience in program and advocacy research, monitoring and evaluation
- Culturally sensitive, with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including listening, influencing and negotiation.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Childrens aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
- Willingness to travel in LAC countries
- Lead the regional learning and knowledge management across the region
Qualifications and experience
Masters degree in a relevant field with 7-10 years of experience in MEAL.
Excellent Spanish-language skills and strong English language skills.
Excellent writing skills with ample proven experience writing reports, proposals and other documentation relevant to the work of SCI
Capacity to support others to improve their skills in drafting proposals, reports, and other documents
Superior analytical and conceptual skills able to distill conceptual models, tendencies, trends and patterns from concrete program/project activities (desired)
Well knowledge on monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning approaches
Excellent training and facilitator skills
Very organized and able to keep track and of and make progress on multiple priorities/ fronts
Excellent at meeting deadlines and working under pressure
Skilled at working and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team
Self-motivated, high-energy, excellent people-skills and a great sense of humor
