Panama: Consultancy: Assessment of “Meld punten” and guide technical discussion at the national Child Protection network meetings

Purpose of the Assignment

  • To conduct an assessment on the functioning of the current centers, and recommending areas for improvement.
  • Guiding the technical discussion of the Child Protection Network meeting, sharing good practices of Global Child Protection networks from other countries and guiding the discussion on how Suriname can strengthen its system.
  • Assignment Tasks

  • Review of documents related to “Meld punten” and Child Protection related policies and legislation in Suriname.
  • Conduct interviews and FGDs with practitioners and policymakers in Paramaribo.
  • Conduct visit to 3 “Meld punten” and conduct interviews with professionals running the center, users, community leaders, practitioners and other stakeholders.
  • Write a short draft report with clear recommendations on the functioning of the “Meld punten” and suggested way forward.
  • Prepare and deliver a presentation on best practices of Child Protection Systems which can be used as basis for the discussion by the CP Network.
  • Guide the technical discussion of the CP Network
  • Write a report on the CP Network meeting and recommendations on its way forward.
  • Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Master’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.
  • At least 8 years’ experiences in child protection including experience of conducting assessments of CP system.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills English (Dutch is an asset
