Save the Children International Guatemala, is hiring a R**egional Coordinator for the Escuelas Construyendo Paz** project under the following conditions:

TYPE OF CONTRACT: National Post

LOCATION: Guatemala City, Guatemala

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people

AVAILABILITY OF TRAVEL IN AND OUT THE COUNTRY: Frequent

ROLE PURPOSE: The Regional Coordinator will have the function of facilitating the integration between operations in Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico in constant communication with SC Norway. In the same way, facilitating processes of internal communication, technical support, monitoring and evaluation, management and budget as well as tasks related to the generation of a regional agenda to promote the participation and the consolidation of youth networks that integrate the project ECPAZ. The Coordinator also will dedicate 50% of their time to support the Regional Office of Save the Children in Latin America to coordinate the initiative of adolescents, follow a plan that sets 4 priorities:

  1. Advocacy and Campaigns
  2. Mobilization of resources for the regional initiative of adolescents
  3. Communication and visibility
  4. Knowledge management and exchange

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the English language at the intermediate level (75%) (writing, reading and verbal expression).
  • Strong knowledge of national or international regulations on human rights-based approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Economic Sciences, Communication Sciences, Social Work or similar studies.
  • Training in social issues, childhood and development.
  • Knowledge of software packages: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, statistical packages, e-mail, internet.
  • Budget management
  • Excellent writing and spelling in English and Spanish
  • Drafting and interpretation of texts, analysis of the context, knowledge of children's issues, legal framework, planning and formulation of projects.
  • Implementing and designing policies to address level, implementation and control of work processes.
  • Assertive communication with donors and other actors
  • Creativity
  • Initiative
  • Negotiation skills
  • Capacity for synthesis
