Chile has a total population of approximately 18.1 million where an estimated 24% are children. Of the latter, 12% belong to indigenous groups. Chile is a high income country that has seen a sustained GDP growth per capita of 5% between 1990 and 2015. In 2010, it joined the OECD and in 2015, Chile ranked 42nd in the Human Development Index. That same year, the under-five malnutrition and mortality rates were respectively 0.5% and 8 per 1,000 live births; while all births where attended by qualified personnel. The education system counted with universal enrolment for both primary and secondary levels and 96% of primary completion rate.

Under the general guidance of the Representative, responsible for the overall coordination planning, development and management of a resource mobilization and partnership strategy to engage relevant partners, raise the necessary funds and support accountability of transparent contribution management. The Resource mobilization and Partnership Specialist will be responsible for the analysis and management of the relationship with Private and global partners and of all fundraising channels and activities, ensuring engaged and long term partnerships, as well as flexible and unrestricted resources for the Chile Country Office.

How can you make a difference?

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Fundraising Manager to support UNICEF’s Chile in the following areas:

  • Develop the pledge fundraising, with priority on the recruitments of pledge donors and the development of a pledge donor management programme to maximize pledge donor’s retention.
  • Develop in collaboration with the PSFR team the Fundraising Strategic Plan to be aligned with the Country Program needs setting the corresponding income targets and strategies to be implemented, keeping the costs budget according to the PFP guidelines recommendation on Cost Income Ratio.
  • Assist and guide the Fundraising team in the developing of current fundraising channels; looking for new opportunities to increase income, especially with focus on developing the use of corporate pathways to pledge, digital platforms such as websites, email, and SMS objectives.
  • Make recommendations on the introduction of new fundraising channels in the country.
  • Secure Private Sector Partnerships with Financial or Non-Financial elements which will contribute to programmatic implementation in the country via financial o non-financial ways. Support the development, management and evaluation of the marketing for the Resource Mobilization & Partnerships area including the analysis of all fundraising channels and marketing activities in order the ensure maximum profitability for the UNICEF Private Sector Section in Chile within the context of an established and approved Country Program.
  • Defining objectives and priorities related to target audience, fundraising and mobilization techniques/channels, need for investment and resources, etc. and coordinates its implementation
  • Construction of effective alliances with companies and businessmen who can share the responsibility for the implementation of the actions proposed by UNICEF in the country.
  • Responsible for the management of the team under his/her supervision

  • An advanced University Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration or other relevant field. *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in Fundraising responsibility including specific experience in individuals channels with external partners.
  • Experience at international level would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with government and/or programmatic corporate engagement would be an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
