Purpose of the Position
Under the supervision of the Resource Mobilization Manager (Section Chief), the Marketing Services Officer is responsible for performing specific tasks in the development of strategies and implementation of fundraising campaigns in order to generate revenues; coordinating the marketing and communication content in the campaigns developed for both the individuals and the corporate team using different channels such as mass media, digital, corporate´s existing channels to their clients and/or employees; responsible for the marketing and communication components in the fundraising events, and in specialized fundraising products such as DRTV, radio spots, social media posts and communication pieces. Lead and manage the Marketing Services Assistant.
Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks
1. Lead and manage the development of high quality communications materials for fundraising campaigns in a successful way in order to bring high quality donors on-board
– Work together with the corporate and individual fundraising team and lead the creation and development of marketing and communication content for fundraising campaigns using different channels such as mass media, digital, corporate´s existing channels addressed to their clients and/or employees, aiming at acquiring new donors; – Supervise the development of the briefings for the advertisement agencies;- Give a “good for production” in the review of final version of the materials.
2. Effectively produce DRTV, radio spot and social media contents, following UNICEF Fundraising and Communication guidelines
– Work together with the corporate and individual fundraising team and lead the development of specialized fundraising products such as DRTV, radio spots, social media posts and other fundraising materials; – Supervise the development of the briefings for the advertisement agencies;- Give a “good for production” in the review of final version of the materials.
3. Insert marketing messages and call for donation in UNICEF social media posts, videos and other pieces
– Make sure that marketing messages are duly inserted in social media communications.
4. Quality assurance
– Make sure that all marketing and communications materials are in line with the PFP and Communications guidelines and that they respond to the quality needs in order to generate the required impact and results.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Education
– First level University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) preferably in communications or marketing is required. Specialized training in Direct Marketing or Private Fundraising is a strong asset.
Experience
– At least one (1) year of work experience in Communications, preferably in a Direct Marketing or Private Fundraising environment is required.- Additional years of relevant experience in the above mentioned fields is a strong asset.
Language Requirements
– Fluency in English and Portuguese is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset.
